Introduction

The article starts with the following sentence.

1. Uses

Cardinal Bellarmine gave a famous example of this usage in the warning issued to Galileo in the early 17th century: that he must not treat the motion of the Earth as a reality, but merely as a hypothesis.
Cardinal Bellarmine accordingly to present mainline opinion was wrong.
A hypothesis requires more work by the researcher in order to either confirm or disprove it. In due course, a confirmed hypothesis may become part of a theory or occasionally may grow to become a theory itself.
It is a question if the hypothesis it self can be tested if it is a part of something larger.
Normally, scientific hypotheses have the form of a mathematical model.
A mathematical model is always something large of which most is already accepted. A hypothesis (something not final) can be small part of a mathematical model.
Karl Popper, following others, has argued that a hypothesis must be falsifiable, and that one cannot regard a proposition or theory as scientific if it does not admit the possibility of being shown false.
The issue is if both hypothesis, postulates, propositions a theory and a law are the same concepts.
A thought experiment might also be used to test the hypothesis as well.
Thought experiments can not be used to test if a hypothesis true. Always real experiments should be used.
Thought experiments can only be used to falsify a hypothesis.

3. Working hypothesis

4. Hypotheses, concepts and measurement

Concepts in Hempel's deductive-nomological model play a key role in the development and testing of hypotheses.
A concept is something not final.
The sentence is wrong. Concepts can be part of a theory, like a hypothesis can also be a part of a theory.
Most formal hypotheses connect concepts by specifying the expected relationships between propositions.

Reflection 1 - Hypothesis

A hypothesis is a proposed solution of a problem, a proposed explanation of the inner working (relations) of a process or part of a plan. A hypothesis describes more assumed detail of something under investigation. It is always possible that there are more Hypothesis with the same problem, process, plan or endavour.
Like every thing related to Science a hypothesis must be clear (in its detail)

Because a hypothesis itself can not be tested, because it is subset of something larger. This something larger can be tested and when it is wrong (the outcome is not as expected) the hypothesis is also wrong.
